LOOK UP

LOOK UP is an invitation to see Heywood and the people who live here from a different point of view.

Bringing together stories from the Heywood Films series by local filmmaker Tom Harmer, LOOK UP transforms the films into an immersive cinematic experience that celebrates the people and places that make the town what it is.

As the films are projected across giant suspended fabric screens, you'll be surrounded by local stories, overlooked skylines, rooftops and landscapes, accompanied by an ambient soundscape created from field recordings across Heywood.

The event encourages you to quite literally look up to notice what you've been walking past all along, see familiar faces and places with fresh eyes, and rediscover something extraordinary in the here and now.

At selected times throughout the weekend, 3 of the creatives featured in the films will perform live pop-up sets, highlighting the important role that music and creativity play in bringing people together, supporting wellbeing, and strengthening connections across the community.

Whether you wander through the projections, relax on a beanbag and take it all in, or stay for a live performance, LOOK UP is a chance to slow down, reconnect with your surroundings, and experience Heywood from a fresh perspective.
